About Us

It all started with a question—

—Considering the minefield of statements we shouldn’t say to a bereaved family after the death of a child, what are some things we CAN and SHOULD say?

And from this question, Sea Glass Parenting greeting cards were born: grief positive; death positive; real world sentiments about the loss, pain, and LOVE surrounding the death of a child.

Our cards aim to shatter the stigma, honor the child, and provide comfort and support without platitudes or cliches.

In the beginning, we focused on greeting card creation. And we actually gave (and still give) some of our printable digital files away for free!

From there, we expanded to other printables and seasonal/holiday prints, and soon afterwards to stickers.

In the early days, we asked ourselves who would be interested in stickers that were for and about deceased children.

It turned out the answer was: “a lot of people”. (Thank you!)

And prompted by responses to some of the mental health and suicide awareness posts on our Instagram page, we also branched out to make stickers for those niches as well.

Some other common themes you'll see include: real talk on death and grief, journal writing and prompts, incorporating your deceased child info holidays after loss, and more than a few elephants (ask us why!).

Our most recent venture is connecting with professional printers and print on demand companies to outsource some products we don’t currently have the ability to produce in-house: things like t-shirts, tote bags, drinkware, candles, and wall art.

We are also in the progress of migrating more than 400 products from our Etsy store to this freestanding website, allowing us to offer a wider range of product types and slightly cheaper prices. (Our Etsy store will remain, but new products will be added here first.)

Through it all, we are two loss Mamas on a mission to bring honesty, awareness, remembrance, and a bit of messy joy to the other bereaved families in our world.

Your love and grief are welcome here, now and always.
